Tasha Holt Fundraiser
A routine mammogram in December revealed some bad news for Tasha Holt of Moorhead. Questionable scans led to a delay in diagnosis and a second opinion from Mayo Clinic. The diagnosis returned was that she had a nuclear grade 3 ductal carcinoma of the breast. Tasha went through a barrage of tests and more biopsies in the months following. On March 9th she had a bilateral mastectomy. From the time of her final biopsy to surgery, she developed another tumor that was not there previously. Radiation treatment is also planned. Tasha had been working fulltime in the service industry but has been unable to work due to restrictions of the surgery, and a prolonged healing process, requiring regular follow up visits with her surgeon. The woman who once ran a large household was now depending on others to do everything for her. Despite it all, she feels blessed and knows her outcome could be much worse.
Tasha has a family that cares for her and helps whenever and however they can. However, with seven individuals living in the household, the financial stress is setting in. Working in the service industry she does not have short term disability or paid time off and will likely not be able to return to work until late fall. Money raised will be used to help with lost wages, pay bills and medical expenses as she recovers and awaits reconstruction surgery. Lend A Hand Up will boost your online gift 20% to make your generosity go further. Cash/Check gifts are not boosted but appreciated, and can be made directly to the family.
Tasha resides in Moorhead with Josh, Emma, Samantha, Abraham, EverLee, and Joshua.
