Shanna was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic cancer on February 27, 2023…a diagnosis no one ever wants to hear. Shanna was struggling with constant flank pain around her left kidney which providers  initially assumed was due to kidney stones. At her third visit to the walk-in clinic for the same pain over a span of 2 months, a CT scan was ordered which showed cancer on her pancreas, liver, stomach, adrenal gland, and lymph nodes. A biopsy was performed on the liver to determine the type of cancer along with an EGD which determined the primary source of the cancer was in the esophagus. Shanna was re-diagnosed with having Stage IV Gastrointestinal (Adenocarcinoma) cancer.

Shanna loves her family more than anything and values every moment she can spend time with her husband and children. Shanna is also passionate about her faith and her church. She loves being outdoors and values time spent maintaining her home, flowers, and gardens. Unfortunately, Shanna’s pain and treatment has taken over her summer.

Shanna resides in Fargo with her husband Tim, who stays at home due to a disability and two of her seven children, along with two doggies.  The remaining children live in Fargo with one living in Bismarck and another living in Texas.  Shanna is blessed to have her children and husband around to help with treatments, appointments, household duties, support, and love.  This blended family has grown into a loving family where Christ is the foundation of their home. Faith, hope, and love are strong.

Shanna is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and sole provider for the family financially. Shanna has exhausted all PTO hours and has outstanding medical bills. The money raised from this fundraiser will help with lost wages, medical expenses, and future treatments. Shanna is currently undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy.  Shanna has had a few setbacks in the past months and is now battling a stomach ulcer.  With the chemo, the ulcer is unable to heal. But without chemo, cancer gains an advantage.   Shanna is battling malnutrition and weight loss as well. The doctors administered a G-tube to help with feedings and nutrition.
