Sam Hardesty, a Fargo native and current member of the ND Army National Guard unit FSC, 142nd Engineer Battalion, was involved in a traumatic work accident on Monday, June 21, 2021 in Grand Forks, ND. Sam was in Grand Forks for the day digging a trench with his employer when a piece of equipment malfunctioned, severing his right leg and severely injuring his left leg.

Sam is a single, 23 year old, who has been a part of the Fargo/Moorhead area his entire life. Sam’s plans were to continue his endeavors with the ND Army National Guard with the hopes of making a career out of it, until his life completely turned upside down. We are grateful and blessed to still have Sam with us and know there is a long journey ahead. Any efforts to help Sam and his family would be greatly appreciated.

Friends and fellow guard members are hosting a benefit October 23 from 5-10 pm at the West Fargo VFW. They are also hosting a brat stand Friday, August 27 and Saturday, August 28 from 10:30 am – 7:00 pm at the Westgate Hornbachers, 2050 Sheyenne St, West Fargo.
