Bodhi Rost Fundraiser
On December 21, 2023, one-year-old, Bodhi Rost, was diagnosed with cancer following a biopsy of a back mass performed at the Mayo Clinic. Subsequently, he was admitted to Sanford in Fargo for further testing to identify the specific type of cancer. Additional procedures, including the insertion of a feeding tube, central line, and various labs, scans, and a bone marrow biopsy, confirmed that Bodhi is battling B-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer with only two other documented cases nationwide.
Facing the urgency of the situation, a comprehensive plan was promptly devised, commencing with chemotherapy immediately after the Christmas holiday. Prior to his admission on December 26, 2023, for inpatient chemo, Bodhi enjoyed precious moments with his 2 ½-year-old brother, Hudson, his parents Heather and Ashley, and extended family. The current treatment plan spans six weeks of inpatient chemotherapy, followed by four weeks of at-home infusions contingent on an appropriate white blood cell count. Subsequently, there will be another 3-6 months of inpatient chemotherapy, followed by 1 ½ years of weekly outpatient treatments at Roger Maris Cancer Center Sanford in Fargo, where the family is from.
While his mothers struggle with shock, overwhelming emotions, and heartbreak, they maintain hope in the effectiveness of the vigorous treatment plan for Bodhi. They express gratitude for the kindness extended by family, friends, co-workers, and hospital staff.
This fundraiser aims to alleviate the financial strain resulting from the loss of work productivity and the expenses associated with Bodhi’s treatment. As a social worker and a nurse, who are accustomed to assisting others in need, they find it humbling to be on the receiving end of support. Your consideration, whether through words of encouragement, prayers, or financial contributions, is sincerely appreciated. Your online gift will be boosted by 20%, with 100% of your gift going directly to the Rost family. Cash/checks may be gifted directly to Heather or Ashley Rost.
