Norma visited the walk-in clinic January 31, 2023 to address abdominal discomfort and chills. During her visit multiple tests were completed ultimately leading to a cancer diagnosis. After her diagnosis things moved at a fast pace and she is now being treated for her Stage 4 colon cancer at the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo, ND. Prior to her cancer diagnosis Norma worked full-time and is employed at Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota. To accommodate chemo treatments and other medical appointments she has not been able to return to work. Norma is passionate about being outdoors where she can be found working and caring for her yard and home. She especially loves the summers when she can tend to her flowers and garden. She resides in Moorhead with her son David (17) and her energetic golden doodle Murphy – her two older daughters live outside the home Tayler (26) and Tia (23). She is a family oriented woman and enjoys visiting and spending time with family both near and far.
