Living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) has profoundly impacted Shannon’s life, as witnessed by her devoted husband. Despite her vitality in youth, the genetically inherited form of EDS she grapples with brings daily struggles of hypermobility, joint instability, and severe chronic pain. Over time, the once manageable symptoms have intensified, leading to a relentless battle against pain and injury.

Shannon’s experiences highlight the unpredictable and debilitating nature of EDS. Even the simplest tasks pose a risk of injury, from dislocating shoulders while rolling over in bed to sustaining severe spinal disc injuries. Chronic pain is a constant companion, affecting her ability to sleep, work, and engage in daily activities.

The toll of EDS extends beyond physical pain, impacting Shannon’s mental well-being. The relentless pain can induce feelings of irritability, anxiety, and depression, further challenging her ability to function. Additionally, the side effects of pain medication present their own set of challenges, affecting cognition and daily functioning.

Despite Shannon’s proactive efforts to manage her condition through medical care, therapy, and lifestyle adjustments, the financial burden of EDS has taken a significant toll on her family. The costs of treatment, coupled with the challenges of maintaining employment, have led to financial strain, including the sale of their home and ongoing struggles with bills and expenses.

Yet, amidst the hardships, Shannon and her family draw strength from their faith, love, and support network. Gardner, ND is where they call home and the Holtes remain resilient in the face of adversity, viewing challenges as opportunities for growth and seeking solace in the kindness of others. Despite their efforts, they acknowledge the need for assistance and hope for a helping hand during this challenging time.

Your online gift goes directly to the Holte family and is boosted 20%. Cash/checks may be gifted directly to the Holte family.

I’ve got it myself and am starting to go downhill. God bless you. Maybe check out BPC-157 if you haven’t already. I’ve taken it orally and it’s helped my esophagus, but I think you have to take the injections to help your body as a whole. Supposedly a lot of people with EDS get great results.
