Denine Paler of West Fargo first battled cancer in 2009.  She was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, HER2 positive with lymph node involvement, and until recently had been cancer free for 13 years.  In the early months of 2022, Denine experienced left leg numbness which radiated to the left side of her body and arm.  After numerous tests and scans, a tumor was found near her brain stem which was initially thought to be benign.  A follow up scan in September showed tumor growth – the outcome proved to be metastatic breast cancer to her brain.  She did not tolerate her first round of chemotherapy in October and became very sick.  She developed blisters on her feet and her right eye diagnosed with neurotrophic keratitis, for which she is doctoring with Vance Thompson Eye Clinic.  She began a new chemotherapy in December and continues that today.

Denine has been unable to work since November due to the left-sided numbness and does not feel safe to drive given the vision impairment.  Her husband Mark has taken time off from work to take her to appointments and care for her.  Money raised will be used to help pay for medical treatment, prescriptions and lost wages.  Your gift will be boosted 20% when you give online and 100% of your donation will go to Denine.  Cash/Checks may be gifted directly to Denine Paler and dropped by Gate City Bank | 1444 45th St S | Fargo, ND 58103.
