David Hendrickson of Fargo was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer of the throat, neck and lymph nodes.  David is a self-proclaimed simple man.  He was born in Cando, raised in Fairdale, and graduated from Grand Forks Red River in 1976 before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps until 1980.  After serving our country he worked in the oil fields of western ND and returned to school, earning two degrees in Urban Forestry and Parks and Recreation.  He worked as a ISA Certified Arborist for 15 years before work injuries lead to an early retirement.  He drove truck for a while and now works in the pest control field.  David says his life is centered around his loving wife Jani, and the two share a gratitude for their journey together in life.  David’s greatest blessings are his family and friends.  David credits God for 19 years of sobriety and considers it to be one of his greatest gifts in life.  His friends will tell you that he has taken a leading role in the recovery community. He enjoys the outdoors and has experienced many incredible moments hiking and hunting the back country.

Money raised will help with treatment expenses, prescriptions and lost wages.  Online donations to his fundraiser will be boosted 20% by Lend A Hand Up, making your generosity go farther!  Cash/Check gifts must be made payable to David Hendickson and dropped off at Border Bank | 4530 17th Ave S | West Fargo, ND 58078.

“To you our loving family and friends. We cannot find the perfect words to express our love and gratitude for all of your prayers, positive thoughts and financial support.  From our hearts, thank you.” -David & Jani

There are many ways a person can help at this time! We are looking for silent auction items, baked goods for the bake sale, and people willing to spread the word about this fundraiser for David! The more times this is shared on social media or talked about with friends, the better the chances that it will reach generous people that are willing to help financially by donating to this very deserving man. Dave has helped so many in this community and beyond, it is our turn to help him.
