Dan Dahlstrom Fundraiser
Dan Dahlstrom of West Fargo was looking forward to retirement in the fall of 2021. In December 2021 his platelet count was very low so his doctors began testing. He was soon diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma and learned he was in need of a liver transplant. He has two tumors on different segments of his liver and received Y90 targeted therapy at the University of Minnesota Fairview. He returns to Minneapolis every three months for bloodwork and scans and to assure there are no new tumors.
After 1 1/2 years of waiting, Dan received his new liver in May 2023! He will be in the hospital for a minimum of 2 weeks and then be required to stay in the cities for 1 month post-surgery. His wife, Sherry, is his caregiver and will stay with him during this time. She doesn’t have family leave so some of that time will go unpaid. Lend A Hand Up will boost your online gift 20% to make the impact of your generosity go further! Cash/Check gifts must be made payable and given directly to Dan or Sherry Dahlstrom.
