Candy Kempel of Casselton has been suffering from diverticulitis, or tiny tears that develop in your digestive tract.  She began experiencing extreme pain in September which led to hospitalization and weeks of treatment.  A CT scan in late October revealed a full-blown rupture requiring emergency surgery.  She remains in the hospital and once discharged, expects to be out of work for 4-6 months to heal and recover.  Candy has two kids who are the joy of her life, Isaac (19) and Jocelyn (16), a sophomore at Central Cass High School.  Candy loves Hallmark Christmas shows and doing diamond art in her spare time.  She treasures her friendships and is hopeful to get a card club together this winter when is is able and feeling well enough to do so.

Caring friends and her parish community have rallied around Candy to raise help and hope. Events are being planned in November at St Peter Lutheran Church, as well as Casselton Pizza Ranch where her daughter works.  Money raised will be used to support loss of income, ongoing treatment, and medical expenses. Lend A Hand Up will boost your donation by 20% when you donate online.  Cash/Check donations must be made directly to Candyce Kempel and dropped by Bank North | 41 Langer Ave S | Casselton, ND 58012.  Please consider a donation or other assistance as you are able.
