Brian Hanson (55) of Fargo, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 2nd, 2023.  On Sunday, April 2nd the family gathered to celebrate an early Easter. With the winter storm forecasted, Brian thought he should shovel off the snow on the roof. The table was set, the food was ready, when there was a knock on their door – a neighbor asking if Brian was on the roof as he had been calling up to him and he was not responding.  Quickly son Owen rushed up to begin CPR and son-in-law, Adam, relieved him until the ambulance arrived. Brian was rushed to Sanford where he passed away from a heart attack.  Brian was a provider, husband, father and just recently a grandfather. Brian worked at Heritage Homes for over 18 years and was well respected by his boss, co-workers and trade partners. Brian was also a coach and mentor for over 20 years to many hockey players in the Fargo area. He made a tremendous impact on the hockey community.

Brian and his wife Jodi were blessed with four beautiful children Madison, Wyatt, Owen, Keegan, son-in-law Adam and a precious granddaughter, Sawyer.  All live in Fargo, and Owen (20) and Keegan (18) live at home.  Keegan will graduate from South High in June.

This online fundraiser has been started to honor the memory of a loved one gone too soon. Money raised will be used for hospital bills, loans, and day-to-day expenses.  Lend A Hand Up will boost your online gift 20% – 100% of the funds go directly to the Hanson family fund.  Cash/Check gifts should be made payable to the Brian Hanson Benefit Fund and dropped by Gate City Bank.

Dear Jodi and family, I saw your story on the news tonight and realized you are my backyard neighbors! I recognized your house from the story. Such a tragic way to lose a husband, father and grandfather! My deepest sympathies go out to you! My prayers are that God will comfort you now and in the days to come! I’m so sorry for your loss!
