Anna Dosso Fundraiser
Anna Dosso has been suffering from a nervous system disorder since she was a teenager. She awoke one morning at age 17 to discover her right leg wasn’t working from the knee down and dragged behind her when she tried to walk. It took four months to recover and regain function back. Now in her 30s, her condition has progressed significantly and she has decreased and/or complete loss of function in all four extremities. This condition has led to chronic pain, problems in her back and neck, venous insufficiency, etc., and is easily triggered by activity. She has had to relearn to walk several times and regularly requires physical and occupational therapy. Recent genetic testing has revealed that she has a rare type of gene mutation that will lead her to pursue treatment with the Director of Neurology at the University of Minnesota. Anna is the mother of two boys, Gabriel (8) and Max (1 1/2), and works as a home health nurse in Moorhead, caring for others.
Money raised will be used to help pay for past medical bills, future doctor visits, travel expenses, a complete genome reading to look for other mutations, as well as a mobility device and other home adaptations. Since she is technically undiagnosed she does not qualify for disability and finds herself in financial distress. Lend A Hand Up will boost your online gift 20% – 100% of the money goes directly to Anna. Cash/Check gifts can be made to the Anna Dosso Benefit Fund and gifted directly to her.
