In 2010, Angie Mueller woke up in the middle of the night and was unable to use the lower half of her left leg. After numerous doctor appointments and six months of physical therapy to learn to walk again, she was diagnosed with a virus which would later impact a host of other health conditions to come. The cause of this virus was due to unseen black mold exposure in water damage at her home.  Angie continued to amass other ailments and conditions over the next 12 years, leading her to lose her job, move in with her mom, and file for disability benefits. Some of the other health conditions Angie has been diagnosed with, and continues to battle today, are Sjogren’s Syndrome, Degenerated Disc Disease, Fibromyalgia and Neuropathy.

Fast forward to 2022, Angie learned that she has a torn meniscus and arthritis in her knee causing excess pain and requiring a full left knee replacement scheduled for October. Shortly after this diagnosis, a recent bout with Covid  has made it even more difficult to battle her other health conditions and autoimmune disorder. Her chronic pain has made day to day functioning very difficult.

Since Covid, Angie’s health conditions have worsened, and she has been left with an arthritic virus in her shoulders, wrists, and hands for the past few months. Angie’s long battle with all her health conditions, and now pending knee replacement and viral Rheumatoid Arthritis, have created a financial burden.

Angie has been making handmade items to help supplement her income, but this has been difficult to manage with her chronic pain. Without being able to provide an income to pay for the upcoming and already accrued bills is causing financial stress. Donation funds will be used to pay for medical bills and lost income. Donations to this online fundraiser will be boosted 20% by Lend A Hand Up to make your gift go further. Cash/check can be paid directly to the Angie Mueller Benefit Fund and dropped at a Bell Bank location.

Another change! There was a benefit already scheduled at The Shrine but not on the books. The benefit will now be Friday, March 24th. Same time, same place. Sorry for the confusion!

Here’s what’s been happening recently…I had a severe pain relapse about two weeks ago making it very difficult to walk, especially in the morning. My upper arms and shoulders hurt so much I’ll get winded from turning a steering wheel to much.
After now having two relapses of the “virus”, it has been determined that is chronic and not “long-term Covid” related. It is a rheumatic autoimmune disease, which I don’t have a specific name for, but the symptoms mirrors Lupus.

The current plan is weekly doctor visits and bloodwork to get the inflammation and other levels to normal ranges. I’m also back on Methotrexate and high to low doses of Prednisone. Neither are my friend due to side effects, but they do help with the pain. My rheumatologist(s) are determined to have me up and moving with a lot less pain by mid to late March so I can go thru with this knee replacement surgery appointment. We are all convinced the surgery will also help decrease the pain in several area’s immensely!

For now, I’m laying low most of the time and taking it day by day. If I see you, I’ll always take a hug, or a soft squeeze. Thank you again for your love, prayers, generosity and support. ❤️🙏🏻🤗🥰

    Much Love,
    Angie

I’m a little behind on the updates but here’s the latest scoop. I have been down and out (even more so) since about Christmas. Dealing with stomach issues, migraines and sleeping for about 18-20 hours a day. After a couple of visits and many blood tests, I have become anemic due to the medication I’ve been taking to fight the virus. Hopefully, this is an easy fix, it just takes a little time. My prescriptions for Methotrexate and Prednisone have changed. I will be done with both within the week. Thankfully, the infection is way down and my numbers have looked decent for a few weeks!!
I snuck in a root canal the other day, why not?!? This too should help with any extra mouth sores and inflammation as well. Keeping my fingers crossed that things just keep getting better and surgery will happen in March!!
Thank you for caring! I cannot express how much I appreciate your kindness and support!!❤️

This Christmas I’m asking for patience and relief since I have to postpone next weeks knee replacement surgery again. My pre-op didn’t go as well as hoped and surgery now is March 29th.
Thank you so very much for all the help, prayers and love my family and I have received thus far!! I would be healed a million times over if that’s all it took!❤️
Have a Merry Christmas and the best New Year yet!!

So very sorry you have to go through all this Angie! ❤️

It’s been another painful and discouraging morning. The rheumatic virus I’ve been fighting keeps on throwing harder jabs than my body can currently handle. After starting in my shoulders, wrists and hands. It has spread into my neck, upper spine, hips and the back of my thighs. This makes getting out of bed look like my own version of break dancing (I’m hopefully not breaking anything)! Walking or even everyday, easy movements and motions have become so difficult and just plain hurt to do!!!
After being on Prednisone for 6 weeks with no beneficial results, I am trying Celebrex for 7 days. I only have 2 days left. If this doesn’t kick the virus in the butt, my doctors are considering postponing my knee replacement surgery, as not to cause infection.
